We use a thorough process when migrating your site’s SEO. First, we log into your website and blog to make critical updates and SEO refinement to ensure that SEO value is transferred to the new domain/design. Nest, we ensure Google Business, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console are set up and verified. We take care of the necessary 301 redirects and submit a formal change of address to Google. When we complete the migration, we track monitor and report back to make sure all the SEO value has been migrated to your new site. The migration takes a week, but we track for a month.

The SEO Migration Process

Step 1: Analyze your Current Site & SEO Settings

• Document all SEO settings and site configuration
• Identify opportunities for SEO improvement and make suggestions

Step 2: Analyze your New Site & SEO Settings

• Analyze and advise on the new site’s structure to ensure consistency
• Analyze and advise on copy/text placement to ensure consistency

Step 3: Implement SEO Settings on New Site

• Implement page titles
• Implement meta descriptions
• Add appropriate keyword copy on the homepage
• Implement image alt text for homepage
• Configure and share XML sitemap
• Configure and install appropriate robots.txt files
• Write, change, and redirect permalinks/URL’s
• Implement redirects for www vs non-www (canonical) as needed
• Install and configure Yoast SEO plugin (WordPress only)
• Ensure appropriate internal linking structure/navigation is appropriate on non-blog pages
• Ensure/implement appropriate external linking on non-blog pages
• Setup/Ensure Google Analytics is properly set up on-site
• Setup/Ensure Google Search Console is properly verified
• Setup/Ensure Google Analytics and Search Console are synced
• Ensure/Assist with setting up Google Business
• Configure/Ensure canonical in Google Search Console
• Submit sitemap in Google Search Console
• Submit the formal change of address form to Google (if necessary)

Step 4: Test, Track, and Report

• Verify appropriate settings using premium crawl software
• Track and monitor primary keywords for 1 month
